This policy explains exactly what leaves your computer. The short version: the diagnostic data of the phones you scan stays on your machine.
What stays on your computer
Scan results, device serial numbers, IMEI numbers, logs, panic reports, your customers' names and ticket numbers, your shop details and your repair history are stored only in the PhoneVitals folder on your PC. They are never uploaded to us.
What is sent to our servers
- A machine identifier — an irreversible hash of stable hardware values from your computer. It binds a licence to your PC and grants exactly one free scan per machine. It cannot be turned back into hardware details.
- Your licence key and credit balance, so a credit can be spent when a scan starts.
- A short summary of each signed report, so its QR code can be verified: device model, iOS version, grade and score, battery health and cycles, the number of findings, your shop name as printed on the report, and a hash of the device serial. The serial itself is never sent, and no customer name or ticket number is ever sent.
- Standard request data that any website receives (IP address, user agent). We store only a salted hash of the IP address, for abuse control.
Verification pages are public by design
A report's verification page shows the summary above to anyone holding its link, because that is its whole purpose: your customer must be able to check it. Report links are unguessable. If you do not want a report's summary to be checkable, do not print it.
Payments
Payments happen on a public blockchain. We record the transaction id and the amount. We never receive, request or store card details, bank details, wallet keys or seed phrases. Nobody from PhoneVitals will ever ask you for a seed phrase or a private key.
Retention
Licence and order records are kept while your licence is active and for as long as accounting requires. Abuse-control logs are kept for 90 days.
Your choices
You may ask us to delete your licence record and signed report summaries by writing to hello@phonevitals.com. Deleting a report summary stops its QR verification working, so any report you already printed will no longer verify.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The purchase page keeps your pending order code in your browser's local storage only, so your licence key survives a page reload.
